Bakers & Takers
One of the purposes of this ministry is to show the genuine care and friendliness of the Oakwood family in a non-threatening way. We do this every Sunday by delivering a fresh baked good to our visitors’ homes. Bakers: Call to volunteer to bake a fresh item attractively wrapped for Sunday delivery. Takers: Call to arrange to help deliver baked goods to our visitors’ homes one Sunday after church. For more information contact Pastor Rusty at .
In the event of a death in the church family, this ministry helps meet the needs of the grieving family by providing a meal following a funeral service. Team members call on the church members to provide different vegetables, salads and desserts to accompany meat and bread provided by the church. The team is responsible for having the meal ready in the Student Worship Center and to provide the cleanup after. For more information contact Debbie Sorensen at
Bible Study Leader
Harvest Food Pantry

High School Ministry
To provide meals and possibly child care to families who are enduring sickness or death within the family. This ministry is to reach people that are not plugged into a Sunday School or Small Group but could use a helping hand to lighten their load; a light to their present darkness. Special Needs - MARK 9
Children of all ages with special needs are invited to attend Bible Study. A buddy will accompany each child to their regular class or to our special needs room, depending on his/her needs. The Intercessory Prayer Ministry provides one of our most vital support ministries and is staffed by volunteer Prayer Warriors. Our members commit to one hour each week to pray for the needs of our church, our staff, our members, the local community, the state, the country, and missions and missionaries. We dedicate ourselves to leading children to look toward Jesus and His teachings. Oakwood Sewing Ministry comes together every Tuesday night from 5:30-8pm. We meet in room 104 of the Adult Education Building. Our ministry is to make baby quilts for Options for Life and we also make Prayer Quilts to provide to those with long term illnesses. Sunday Night at Oakwood
Our Sunday Night service starts at 6:30pm in the main worship center. Coffee Bar Team: Arrive Sundays around 4:45pm to brew coffee and tea, set out snacks, and set-up the coffee bar area. Technical Arts Team

TLC – Tender Loving Care
TLC is a ministry that exists to spread some tender loving care to the elderly in our community. We visit nursing homes and shut-ins and have periodic luncheons and Bible studies at the church. For more information contact Misty Alva at 830-822-7519.
Oakwood has only one opportunity to make a good impression for our first time guests. The usher ministry is a vital link in establishing a great first impression. The primary responsibility is to make the worship experience enjoyable for our guests. Pass out worship guides with a smile and a handshake and help collect the morning offering.
