Awana

Wednesday Evening - 5:30-7:30pm

Dinner provided from 5:30-5:50pm

Awana creates an exciting, fun, and energetic environment where kids can grow to know, love, and serve Christ. The kids enjoy unleashing their enthusiasm and natural energy through exciting games and activities while building confidence and team spirit. Spiritual growth is nourished through Bible truths and a self-paced system of scripture memorization. Music, games and small groups encourage a deeper understanding of God’s Word and get kids excited about learning more about Him.

Changes for the 2019-2020 AWANA year:
-Beginning this year, we are asking one parent from each household to serve two evenings over the course of the AWANA year (September-May).  These parents will be our VIPs (Very Important Parents)!  Our VIPs will serve wherever the need is for that particular night, no training will be necessary, and all parents must complete a background check and screening form before serving.  After registering your child(ren), you will be immediately redirected to a Signup Genius where you will be able to pick your dates.  Our VIPs will be in addition to the 200 weekly Leaders we need to make this ministry happen!

-After careful evaluation, Oakwood has decided the most effective way to maximize our AWANA ministry is to begin AWANA Clubs for children age 3 by September 1st of this year.  We will no longer be offering Puggles for two-year-olds.

-For ALL infants through two-year-oldsBible study will be offered for two-year-olds, and childcare will be offered for infants through toddlers.  We are requiring at least one parent be present on Oakwood grounds the entire evening in one of two places:  a parent must be serving in one of our Wednesday night ministries OR attending a Spiritual Growth class.  All Infants through two-year-olds must be registered online before being placed in a classroom.  This is to ensure the highest safety and care for our little ones.

*Cost: $25 per child for the first two children, $10 per each additional child for each school year.  Funds will provide handbooks and a T-shirt or vest.  You can register your child at the welcome desk in the children's building on Wednesday evenings.
